Volunteers Make The Cherry Blossom Festival Possible!
We love our volunteers! Volunteers are what keep the festival going smoothly. We usually need around a hundred eager people to help vendors, staff our games, set up and tear down the various areas of activities, and man our information tables.
The Anime and Cosplay chairmen use volunteers. Our stages need volunteers. Some volunteers serve as runners to provide communication between festival staff. Some volunteers will be needed on Saturday for decorating. Volunteers are needed from 9 am to Noon on Sunday to get ready for the festival and from Noon to 3 pm and 3 pm to 6 pm. Some will be needed after the festival to dismantle the setups. During the festival, work shifts are usually 3 hours in length so that volunteers may also enjoy the festival. Anyone volunteer working on Sunday will be required to attend a short training session on Saturday (location and time TBD) so he/she will know what to do and where.
Because of the change of venue to PFW, the minimum age of volunteers has changed. PFW rules require that volunteers be at least 18 years old. A volunteer under 18 must have a parent or guardian volunteering with him/her. Older volunteers are very appreciated also. Volunteers get to see a different side of the festival and take home great memories!
Volunteer registration for the May 21 Cherry Blossom Festival has closed. Thank you to all who have now volunteered.
No "walk-in"volunteers will be accepted on May 21.
